An Echocardiogram is a painless procedure, which uses sound waves (ultrasound) to take moving pictures of your heart. Measurements taken from these pictures are helpful in determining how well your heart is functioning. It allows us to visualise abnormalities of the muscle, valves, as well as measuring pressures within the heart chambers.

The examination will take approximately 30 minutes.

The echocardiogram is performed and recorded by a qualified Cardiac Sonographer. Our Cardiologist will read the results and a report will be sent to the referring doctor within 3 working days.
